Jaehyo’s story of his mother

heodang:

Jaehyo: When I was in high school, I went on a school trip. Before I went on the school trip, being at a young age where I complained to my mother about how I wanted to wear pretty clothes and shoes, I ended up going on the school trip after having fought with my mom. But I felt guilty after having fought with her so I gave her a call during the trip and she didn’t pick up. I assumed that she was just really angry so I was having fun but on that evening, I got called by one of my teachers and they said to me, “Jaehyo, you have to go back right now. I think something happened.” I had a bad feeling, so I left and when I arrived, I found out that my mother had fainted from brain hemorrhage. At first, my family tried to hide it from me by not showing my mother to me considering I was the youngest and they weren’t sure if I’d be able to handle it. They didn’t show her to me and…
MC: How old was your mother at the time?
Jaehyo: 42.

Jaehyo: I searched on the internet of what’s good for patients who are dealing with brain hemorrhage and I came across a post that said that music is a big help to those who are unconscious. I found all the songs that I grew up listening to in my mother’s arms on the radio and played it for her.
MC: How old are you?
Jaehyo: I was born in 1990.
MC: There must be a lot of songs you don’t know.
Jaehyo: There were songs like “Toy Soldier.” She had a wide genre for music like “Attachment” from Young Turks Club. Even songs from Y2K.
MC: It must have been a lot of help having your older brother take care of your mother also. Jaehyo: Yes, considering he’s an older brother, he would comfort me. When my mother was unconscious at the time, I visited her in the intensive care unit but she would constantly look for my older brother. The reason for this is because my older brother was very studious so she would brag to the nurses about him. Despite being unconscious, she would say those things, yet she wouldn’t talk about me.
MC: No matter of her being unconscious, that must be upsetting for you.
Jaehyo: I think for that reason, I decided to shape up and do something with my life, so I worked hard in preparing to become a singer and what my older brother told me was, “Don’t ever cry in front of the camera.” I spoke about my mother before on camera and in seeing me cry, my mother had cried more than I did, so he told me to never show my weak side in front of the camera.
